Steve Miller

Dr. Miller grew up in Hartington, Nebraska, and graduated from Hartington Cedar Catholic High School.  He also graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology and Biology from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.  He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1994.

Since then, Dr. Miller has practiced at Authier Miller Pape Eyecare Consultants.  He is a current member of the Nebraska Optometric Association as well as the American Optometric Association.  He has served multiple terms on the Nebraska Optometric Association’s Board of Directors and has held many leadership positions including a term as President in 2011. He continues to serve on various committees for the Nebraska and American Optometric Associations.  He served several years as an advisory board member for one of the leading electronic medical records companies. He was also appointed to serve as a test moderator for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.

He was honored with the Nebraska Optometric Association’s “Young Optometrist of the Year Award” as well as the Presidential Citation for his volunteer work for the Nebraska Optometric Association.

In 2011, he demonstrated his commitment of lifelong learning by achieving the status being certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry as a Board Certified Optometrist.

Dr. Miller is involved with many community projects and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Norfolk Area United Way.  He also is a member of the Norfolk Lion’s Club and Knights of Columbus.  He has been elected to multiple terms on the Pastoral Council for his church.

He was recognized as one of the “Twenty Under 40,” a Norfolk Daily News recognition program for the area’s best and brightest local and area residents under 40 years of age.  Dr. Miller has performed many public speaking engagements in his community and for the State of Nebraska.

Dr. Miller enjoys Primary Care Optometry, with emphasis on ocular pathology and surgical consultation.  

He and his wife, Janell, have four children: Amy, Matt, Abby, and Morgan.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his children, and at sporting events, golfing, boating, and traveling with his family.
